Housecall Pro Alternatives for Home-Service Shops

Compare Jobber, FieldEdge, Service Fusion, ServiceM8 and ServiceTitan by team pricing, accounting fit, service agreements, mobile workflow and scale.

Which Housecall Pro Alternative Fits Your Reason for Switching?

Do not replace Housecall Pro with a longer feature list. Replace it only when another product fixes a defined operating constraint: team pricing, accounting handoff, service-agreement depth, mobile platform, job volume or multi-location control.

Housecall Pro’s current structure is the baseline. Basic includes one user. Essentials includes five users. Max includes eight users and lists additional users at $35 per month. (Housecall Pro) Basic includes online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments, a price book and job costing. A switch should improve something material without breaking those daily workflows.

Alternative Strongest reason to shortlist Validate before buying
Jobber Comparable self-serve field-service workflow Required plan and user count
FieldEdge Mechanical service agreements and QuickBooks Desktop Quote, included mobile licenses and onboarding
Service Fusion Unlimited users on every plan Total flat subscription and add-ons
ServiceM8 Free solo entry or paid job-volume pricing iOS/Android workflow and monthly job credits
ServiceTitan Per-technician, quote-priced operational depth Implementation scope and full recurring cost

Read our Housecall Pro review first if the real question is whether your current plan is configured well enough.

Closest Self-Serve Alternative: Jobber

Jobber is the cleanest first trial when you still want an online, broadly marketed field-service platform rather than a heavier implementation. Its pricing page lists industries including cleaning, construction, electrical, handyman, HVAC, landscaping, plumbing, roofing and tree care. (Jobber)

The current pricing model still requires careful seat math. Jobber defines a user as anyone accessing the account to view or manage the team schedule, and its page lists additional users at $29 per month. (Jobber) Core includes one user, while higher plan/team combinations include different user counts. Jobber says it syncs with QuickBooks Online. (Jobber)

Shortlist Jobber if its request-to-quote-to-job-to-invoice flow is easier for your crew. Do not assume it is automatically cheaper. Price the plan that contains your required automation, job costing and communication tools at the exact team size you expect next year. Our Jobber vs. Housecall Pro comparison goes deeper on that direct decision.

Mechanical-Service Depth: FieldEdge

FieldEdge deserves a trial when HVAC, plumbing or electrical service agreements and accounting compatibility drive the decision. FieldEdge lists its Pricebook & Flat Rate Pricing feature across its current plans. It lists QuickBooks Online and Desktop across its current plans. It lists basic service agreements on Select and advanced service agreements on Premier and Elite. (FieldEdge)

FieldEdge does not publish a simple checkout price. The vendor says pricing varies with factors such as technician or employee count and required add-ons. (FieldEdge) Its plan table lists two included mobile app licenses on Select, four on Premier and six on Elite. (FieldEdge)

That makes the demo a scoping exercise, not just a product tour. Ask for the recurring subscription, implementation, data migration, included mobile licenses, extra licenses, payment costs and each required add-on in one written total. Then test one maintenance-agreement renewal and one QuickBooks sync with representative data.

Unlimited Users or a Free Solo Start: Service Fusion and ServiceM8

Service Fusion changes the seat equation: every current plan includes unlimited users. (Service Fusion) Its page also lists scheduling and dispatch, estimates and jobs, invoicing, integrated payments, QuickBooks integration and project management on Starter. The trade-off is a higher flat platform price than a one-user starter plan, so compare the total only at your real headcount and feature set.

ServiceM8 uses a different model. Its Free plan is limited to one user and 30 jobs per month. (ServiceM8) Paid Starter, Growing, Premium and Premium Plus plans list unlimited users with increasing monthly job allowances. (ServiceM8) This corrects a common but consequential shortcut: ServiceM8 does not offer unlimited users on its free plan.

Mobile fit is the other gate. ServiceM8 says its full-featured app is optimized for iOS, while ServiceM8 Lite for Android gives technicians, subcontractors and temporary workers core job-management features. (ServiceM8) If the field team is Android-first, test every required field action before treating its pricing model as a win.

Quote-Priced Scale: ServiceTitan

ServiceTitan is the option to evaluate when the business wants a quote-priced, per-technician platform rather than another small-shop subscription. ServiceTitan says its pricing is per technician. (ServiceTitan) Its package page lists dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing, price book, mobile estimates, payroll management, advanced reporting, commission tracking and customizable memberships. (ServiceTitan)

Those capabilities do not establish that ServiceTitan is automatically the right upgrade. Require a written implementation map covering data migration, accounting integration, phones, payments, training, reporting, add-ons and the recurring per-technician total. Run the same scripted workflow in Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan before accepting an enterprise label as a business case.
